Vidar,

Perhaps a poll would be one way to handle this?

I must be a bit dumb here. What possible concerns would or could anyone ever have about this being an open forum?

I myself am pretty much an "open book" so what's to be secretive about???
Maybe I'm missing something here, but for now I just cannot understand why anyone would have an issue with fellow interested collectors and film lovers reading what's on here???

I have just seen that we had 82 guests today, and 14 members. The number of interested people is increasing, I hope some will decide to join us.

Hopefully someone like Ole can explain to me what difference it would make to him to close the forum to interested guests?

Ole is opposed to keeping it open he says, so it will be interesting for me to see for what reasons he would like this forum closed to guests?

In reply to Roberts quest, maybe some will ..maybe all won't.
Either way it makes no difference really as I see it so long as people are interested in what's posted here.

We have plenty of members who are still yet to post anything.
That causes me more concern in a way, as to me, I cannot see the point of joining something you have no intention of contributing to.

Does that make sense, do you think?

If you look at the membership list Andrew, you will find many signed up on day one, but haven't been back since. We have 60 members now, but don't know how many are active, maybe just the 14. I hoped others would join us. You can read the posts, but not comment unless you join. Despite the low numbers we are more active than some of the other forums.

I would think the other forums would get the shock of their lives if they held a poll, I'd be very surprised if they reached triple figures,
there are as Robert and Andrew rightly observe, many folk that join, but never contribute, beats me why they have nothing to add to some very good topics, no one is going to set upon them, everyone has a view, share it with your fellow collectors, but make it fast,
some of us are getting on in years.

Maybe if we charged a registration fee to sign up they would contribute something on a regular basis. hahaha !
Still I cant help wondering why they bothered registering with a FORUM then say nothing.

Please don't crucify me guys! Some of those 'guest' numbers are myself when I'm not logged in. I don't always take the time to log in when I read what's been posted here. My apologies fellows.

Is your computer at risk in any way? You can put a Remember me type thing here, as I never log in, but is always logged in
