Lincoln’s S8 Treasure Hunt

#1 by Lincoln Thorn , Tue Apr 16, 2024 1:15 pm

Greetings film friends,

I thought I’d share a short list of films I’ve been on the hunt a long while! I’ve been lucky enough to mark some great films off my list like WILLARD, ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, NEVERENDING STORY, and even a whole episode of COLUMBO on Super 8 recently!

Halloween (4x600ft)
Elvis JC (400ft)
Cary Grant feature films (Arsenic and Old Lace, NbNW, His Girl Friday)
Charlie Brown specials
Get Carter (??)

I hope you all have a wonderful day and find some great super 8 treasures.

Lincoln

Some good titles, good luck finding them, most are out there.

So true! I'm continually surprised by what made its way to Super 8 film. Halloween is my biggest want, but I enjoy the hunt a lot (which is another great part of collecting films).

Lincoln I have read before that Halloween from Derann is not a great print, not as good as the full feature of the Fog for example. I would check reviews before deciding whether you still want it as your holly grail.

I have also read this, a little bit soft in places if i recall, it does still command a very high price when it comes up for sale.

I have the fog and it really is a wonderful print! Like all things, I think it depends on the price and timing, but I will enjoy the hunt nonetheless.

I hope you guys find some great films in the meantime.
