Louis Gossett Jr.(1936-2024)

Gossett was the first African-American to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his unforgettable performance as drill Sergeant Emil Foley in "An Officer and a Gentleman." Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor for his portrayal of Fiddler in the groundbreaking ABC series "Roots,"

Not well represented on super 8 the only feature I could recall was The Deep (1977) Columbia (400ft). A few trailers were also available.

The Deep (With Robert Shaw)

An Officer and a Gentleman (With Richard Gere)

I still love the smell of film in the morning
