"SONG OF THE OPEN ROAD" (1944)

#1 by Rick S. Newman , Fri Mar 29, 2024 12:27 am

I'm wondering if any of you gents in the U.K. might know whether "SONG OF THE OPEN ROAD" (U.A., 1944) had ever been released in Europe presumably in Region 2 format. I'd very much like to have a 16mm print made from decent preprint material though the copy I have isn't quite good enough. If there is or had been a Region 2 disc I might acquire I'm certain I'd find someone who'd have the ability to convert it for me.
Any information you may have and would care to pass along would be sincerely appreciated.

Thanks.
Rick

Unfortunatly Rik, it doesn't like like there is anything released in the UK, other than a couple of dodgy DVD-R copies, nothing.

Same here Tom, an occasional sub-standard bootleg will surface.
I appreciate your input nevertheless.

Rick,
I don’t know if you have found this sit but Zeus DVD’s have or had a copy. This is an American web site so you most probably know.

The copy uploaded to YouTube is actually inferior to the one I have though I'm appreciative that someone thought to upload it in any case. As for Zeus DVDs candidly I'd never heard of them but I'll surely check that now.
Many thanks for the info. Gwyn!
