Watched on a rainy afternoon the 1985 film The Last Dragon a film produced by Berry Gordy the then head of Motown Records.Described as an 80’s funky martial arts masterpiece,which now has a somewhat cult status.Well it certainly is a cheesy film with some excellent scenes from Bruce Lee films thrown in for good measure.The film was a critical failure,but a box office hit with people quoting the film’s screenplay!!
The film stars an actor Taimak,and Vanity,directed by Michael Schultz.
The story set in New York follows a young man searching for “The Master” to obtain the final level of martial arts mastery known as the Glow, all interspersed with disco dancing ,king fu,ripping off every eighties film on the way.The Bruce Lee section is very good.
My print came on 1 x 1600 and 1 x 2000 excellent colour and sound,with no splices.
