Take a look at this....

No doubt a brilliant and rare print, but simply unaffordable to all but a very select few collectors. I am plenty happy with my Super Eight print that was at a fraction of this cost...

Wow!!! Nice price for the seller, maybe Fort Knox comes with the print.

I would Imagine few 35mm prints circulate these days for sale, super 8 prints are getting the same but that would probably explain the price, get it while you can, explain that one to the wife when it arrives

Thats insane, i know James Bond films are desirable to many, but not at this price. There cant be that high a percentage of collectors who have 35mm but clearly someone is going to be happy if they are willing to pay that much. Maybe a private cinema owner or just a mega fan.

I have a 16mm copy of "Goldfinger" on lovely Kodachrome which I bought some twenty years ago from Danny Pitt for £50. The low price was that it has a magnetic track for its English sound, and none of his other clients had a magnetic playback projector.

I think you may have a piece of gold there Maurice, my SL2 has magnetic playback but as yet, i have no magnetic sound 16mm films. To be honest, im not looking out for any but what you have there must be as rare a rocking horse doings.

Tom, at that time I only had one magnetic playback 16mm projector, a Bell & Howell TQII model 1658. I was advised to select optical before using the auto-thread feature. This is to allow the film to go through the magnetic head in its "open" position. Then, when loading complete, stop the projector and select the magnetic position.

As you know, when a 16mm film is going through the leader before the actual picture/sound, the sound often makes various noises such as plops, clicks and other extraneous noises. When the leader of "Goldfinger" was running through there were no noises at all, just pure silence. I was worried that perhaps there was no sound. I turned up the volume even more. All quiet. Then, suddenly, Shirley Bassey burst forth with GOLDFINGER. I was very much relieved.

Sometimes you will see such a high selling listing be re-listed shortly after...probably due to non-payment from a sniper who wasn't planning on winning. Personally, I'd pay bills with that $$$.
