Poltergeist

#1 by Tom Photiou , Thu Sep 23, 2021 10:36 pm

Tonight, we viewed our red fox print of Poltergeist, ours is the 4:3 version, but still a very good viewing. Jerry Goldsmiths music is very much Star trek style but it works perfectly.
Previously reviewed here for those who would to see the screenshots.

I think mine might be the same, but can’tremember seeing Red Fox anywhere. A great film, also got a scope 16mm, not seen yet, but likely faded

If your 16mm print isnt faded Vidar, then you have a very good film in the scope format.

I have just one Red Fox print, but most of them seems to be really good prints! One day I will try to learn more about the labs the different distributors used to print the films.

I bought mine on a off chance visit to derann, they used to have all the for sale films in large trays in the shop, and i spent some time going through them, and found this film, red fox boxes at £140.00 i though was very fair price so snapped it up. I wonder if the scope version is any better, this film has very good colour and sound, bought really because of my horror fan interest, just like the fog feature, pity the hammer films weren't done by red fox, now that would be a great seller...........

Eivind, my original box for this film is a little tatty but i will upload it later for the database.

Paul, the scope print is the one i was after for a long time. Derann did this one in scope on 4 x 600 reels as opposed to the 6 x 400reels red fox did. Mine is now joined perfectly on 2 x 1200ft reels. The colours and image are very good and the film is on low fade stock.
I believe those who are lucky to have the scope version from Derann do have one of the best scope prints, i havnt seen a copy but all the reviews are first class.
