Can a post be edited by the poster

#1 by Bill Phelps , Fri May 25, 2018 2:14 am

I was wondering if posts can be edited by the writer for poor grammar, adding items in a list, marking things sold, or just changing content.

Hi Bill. :-) You can edit a post until someone 'likes' your post or has followed up with a reply. Or you can contact Robert or Eivind by private messaging to make the changes for you.

Thanks for the info....I was going to start a topic in odd reels of some odd reels I have. I was going to start it and then go back and add to it but maybe I should just try to list them all in one post.

As far as I know Bill, you just click the edit button; often I think of things to add to my comments, and have to go back to the edit button. I think you can still do that after someone has commented or ticked 'Like'. I often find I have made spelling mistakes and have to go back to correct it.

Robert; you can since you are a moderator. I don't think regular users can. They can only do that until someone else has interacted with the post. It is done to avoid trolling. Someone could write something, then get a reply, then change the first post and make the one writing the reply look bad.

But all moderators and admins can change all posts, both their own and from others. It will then be marked as edited at the bottom of the post. I am happy to help if you need something changed, Bill.

Well as I stated above I have a lot of odd reels and I wanted to start a thread listing them and was going to add to it without writing another post to keep the list all together. I will try to just list most of them in one shot.i figured if they were listed and someone saw something they needed I could help them out!
