I'm late to this forum, so have only just seen your request. If you still need these items, I can ask around. But first, as regards rewinder, split spool etc, what spindle size do you need - old British standard 3/8 inch (Kalee, Ross etc), American 5/16inch (Simplex), or continental 9mm (Kinoton)?
As regards a splicer, there are usually second hand Italian CIR splicers on Ebay, though generally overpriced. I would advise against them. I have acquired several over the years including a brand new one and, despite frequent cleaning, they soon stop punching out the perfs and trimming the edges cleanly. And replacement perforators and trimmers cost a fortune. Some years ago I purchased a reconditioned American made Neumade splicer from the USA. They have a reputation for long service and I can confirm that mine goes on and on and on producing excelent results with minimum servicing. It cost $250 plus postage, but was money well spent.

My father was a 35mm theater projectionist for many years. He passed away last year, at 96 yrs he was still showing movies! I am trained on the equipment, but decided to sell his equipment and films, but not sure how to go about this. His theater included 12 vintage theater seats in excellent condition. Two Brenkert projectors set for a screen 12 feet distance. His films included approx. 30 35mm and 20 16mm, plus cartoons, news reels and shorts. I need suggestions on how I should go about best sell this items to someone who will appreciate them.

Hi Sue,
Perhaps try an eBay listing with the emphasis on "FOR LOCAL PICKUP ONLY"? At least you'll reach more potential buyers as opposed to a local paper. Or a forum such as this one. Depending on where you're located, will determine your prospective buyers. I think that most of our members live in the UK, but I could be wrong about that. Not too many from the US, like myself. Film collecting is an unusual hobby, so finding a buyer might take a little time. Best of luck to you!
Depending on where you are based Sue, plenty will still be interested in your late fathers collection.
If you are here in the UK or in the USA, there is still bags of interest for films in decent condition.
The same can be said for a large section of Europe also.
Good luck with your sales and I hope you find buyers who will treasure your father's collection in the manner he did.
That's always my own main personal concern.
"C'Mon Baggy, Get With The Beat"

This Forum has places for selling both 35mm and 16mm which you could use to let us know what you have available for sale.

Welcome, Sue. You can also try takling to Mr. Foster

He is a dealer, but you might get more selling individually, but more work. Be slightly careful, as 35mm is not really legal to own. Not sure they are enforcing this much anymore, but closed groups like this should be safer

Thank you for your responses. I currently sell on EBay and will probably pursue this to sell the films. There will never be a better way to see film than on the 35mm projectors!
