The Fifth Element. 400ft Scope/stereo.

All the recent talk of those very nice 16mm prints of this movie made me want to view my little super 8 extract.
This was a film i bought some years ago on the second hand list at a time i was buying all sorts of stuff in scope to build up our collection of scope films. It's not a film i ever saw in full nor was i too interested, (although now i have seen it, i have changed my mind).
This release was reviewed by Mr Wilton and i believe re- reading the review that this was pretty much the full reel two of the feature. I also believe at the time Derann were planning another reel or so but unfortunately it never happened, however, as a starter to any scope show this is an all action chase. In brief here is what is covered.
The Fifth Element scientists reconstruct a humanoid woman who takes the name Leeloo (Milla Jovovich). Terrified of the unfamiliar surroundings, she escapes, (& takes out a couple of victims), confinement and to avoid the Police, jumps off a ledge, crashing into the flying taxicab of Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis), a former major in the special forces. Now the chase is on and it is a fast moving action sequence until the end of the reel, excellent quality and sound on this release, (if a little darker than the usual prints), the only down side is that there is absolutely no end title.
I am currently looking for the scope trailer to this to splice onto the end to make a short show. If you can find a copy of this 400 footer,(approx 360ft) i would recommend it highly as a great little opener to any scope shows.

Very very nice indeed. A film I've never seen, but these pictures here, certainly make you want to.

No Andrew, not ANY TIME, unfortunately those days are now gone, mainly due to lack of affordable new releases, those new releases generated second hand films through part exchanges and that drove the price down on second hand films. People would be happy to part exchange whatever it took to get a new release, I was in the games industry and it was exactly the same there. Very well done Tom on getting a great bargain at the time, puts a warm glow in your heart when you get a bargain, enjoy it.

Must admit, I sold a copy of 633 squadron 2 years ago when I didn't have a scope lens at the time, it was a gorgeous print too, now I have a lovely Kowa scope lens and wish I had kept it, well done for keeping hold of it Tom.

Tom Photiou sais Thank You!
