I last visited Phil and his wife Denise at the old shop in Cleethorpes when I went down to pick
up some film equipment and films a couple of years ago.
They made us very welcome and I got to see his Home Cinema and his own collection
at his house. I returned to Aberdeen with some "freebies" including a 16mm Elf Projector and films.
Happy memories.

You must go Tom. It was the other side of the world for me but I just managed it!

Phil is a very generous man, he certainly puts his all into film, no denying that, his new shop looks spectacular, all this and the man
can still publish a magazine.

Come with me one day before too long Tom. I will come and pick you up! Ha ha.

Seriously though, it's something we all should try and do while we all still can.

The alarming and saddening news from Hugh earlier today regarding Barry Littlechild, tells us all...time waits for no man!!

Think I must be due a visit. Not been to the new shop. I'll leave my card at home.

I still love the smell of film in the morning

Wasn't too sure what to expect Tom, I had heard Phil had just bought a mass of new stuff but WOW when I got there it was like visiting Derann there was films everywhere, I only had so much cash on me so just picked up a Dracula Prince Of Darkness feature plus a Once Upon A Mouse 600' and 3 ads reels, all of them looked mint and all looked to have good colour, can't fault it, Phil also chucked me in 3 free 400''s, think they look a bit pink but good for spools if nothing else, it's the thought I always think, top man. It won't be the last time I visit, that's for sure

Might just have to go next week. I'll see if I can get an mp's pay packet (brown envelope) with a letter from Panama. If Phil has some nice stuff I'll buy something.

Jonathan, now you have put it like that it is a feeble excuse for me being the other end of this tiny Country

In all fairness Tom, I had also been visiting my old University in York. So, it wasn't a massive detour.

I will have to work it around my barmy shifts , but shouldn't be a problem with a bit of careful planning Tom.
