DCR ads in stereo????

Here's one for the techies. Did DCR ever release a cinema ads reel in stereo?. I have one and watching it last night on my GS I noticed when I turned up the right volume knob it was controlling some of the sound so I flicked the stereo switch, now this normally for mono prints stops any volume coming from the right knob, however I still had sound from both volume control knobs. The sound by the way was excellent, shame the colour was a bit faded, the box says reel No. 6, Del.

Del,

He used to record his films on a GS 1200, so perhaps he recorded both tracks at once, I'll have to check out other DCR releases, it could be a one off, but you never know, mind you thinking about the DCR releases, I doubt if many (if any!) would have been made with a stereo track avaiable.

Hi Del, I'll have a look through some "Movie Makers", but I'm inclined to agree with Barry, I think someone has just transferred from track one to track two, you get a lot of this in France, where a different language is rerecorded on the balance track.

Think both you and Barry are right Hugh, it would be very far fetched to think an ads reel from the 80's would have been recorded in stereo.
