He was a very underated actor, of course he was brilliant as "Alf Garnett" but he was also just as happy with Shakeaspeare sonnets as well as 'Garnett' rants. I believe he lived a lot in Australia in later life perhaps because of the climate helping his failing health.
Barry, your right, he was very underrated, most people only knew him as Alf Garnet but he was a very good stage and screen actor.

The 66 world cup scene with Tony Booth is one of my favourites.
I used to have a 16mm print of Jabberwocky, in which Warren featured quite heavily as Mr Fishfinger. (Bought at a 90s Derann Bring and Buy)
