Alas w have lost a great writer and actor, Colin Welland, I remember him from TVs "Z Cars" as PC Graham, was in "Kes", "The Sweeney",
"Villain", "Straw Dogs" etc. As a writer "Yanks", "Chariots of Fire", "A Dry White Season" etc, born in 1934 in Lancashire, a real Northerner, suffered from Alzeimers and died in his sleep at 81. A real talent has gone, Condolences to his Family, R.I.P. Colin.

Yes Hugh, a real talent and a local lad to us all here. Very sad news once again in this horrendous year for the passing of some of our silver screen greats

Colin suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Something we all dread in our later lives and something my wife and I are all too familiar with regarding close members of our family.

R.I.P. Colin. You will always be fondly remembered.

Almost a Yorkshireman with Kes. Just about remember him from Z Cars. Colin Welland taught in the local school in Barnsley for a week to develop a credible relationship with the young extras.

R.I.P Mr Welland.

I still love the smell of film in the morning
