Friday night: 20000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA (1916,dir: Stuart Paton). Early telling of the Jules Verne novel which manages to add a little from Mysterious Island plus a lost jungle girl and yet, including all the basic points of the story.Plus, early underwater photography by the pioneer Williamson brothers.Standard 8 Blackhawk copy.
Saturday night:LADRI DEI BICICLETTE.(1947,dir:Vittorio de Sica.) The classic movie in a beautiful super 8 italian copy with optical sound.Simply, a masterpiece.
Sunday night: A SHIP COMES IN (1928,dir:William K. Howard.) A warm hearted tale of immigrants in America and a tour-de-force performance by Rudolph Schildkraut. Standard 8 Milestone print.

To be honest, LADRI belongs to my friend Yanis who left it in my care, and left for Birbingham. The silents belong to a big big big Standard 8 collection of original silent films I have been acquiring in parts ,to avoid customs charges, this year! More on that, later!
