2505 QUEEN OF HEARTS : Starring Lancashire's own Gracie Fields as Gracie Perkins, a seamstress who is mistaken for a wealthy patroness of the arts. The fun begins when Gracie is approached to back a new stage show. Hoping to crash society, or at least land a part in the show herself, she keeps up her masquerade. To absolutely no one's surprise, she's the hit of the show and as icing on the cake ends up winning the heart of leading man Derek Cooper (John Loder). 2508 THE BEASTMASTER : Action packed sword-and-sorcery fantasy about a young man's search for revenge. Armed with supernatural powers, the hero and his animal allies wage war against marauding forces. 2510 RANDOM HARVEST : At the close of World War I, shell-shocked amnesia victim Ronald Colman is sequestered in a London sanatorium, with no identity and no next of kin, he has nowhere else to go. Unable to stand the loneliness, Colman wanders into the streets, then stumbles into a music hall, where he is befriended by good-natured entertainer Greer Garson. Outstanding classic moving romantic drama based on a James Hilton novel. The film was one of MGM's biggest hits in 1942, indeed, one of the biggest in the studio's history. 2511 THE PEOPLE : A young woman is assigned to teach school in a secluded valley whose inhabitants appear stern, secretive and anti-pleasure. 2513 ON THE BEACH : Stanley Kramer's science fiction was considered the first "important" entry in this end of the world genre when originally released in 1959. The film is set in the future (1964) when virtually all life on earth has been exterminated by the radioactive residue of a nuclear holocaust. When the possibility arises that rains have washed the atmosphere clean in the Northern hemisphere, a submarine commander and his men head to San Diego, where faint radio signals have been emanating. The movie's all-star cast includes Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire and Anthony Perkins. 2517 SO WELL REMEMBERED : On VE Day, George Boswell, the mayor of Browdley, Lancashire, a small English industrial town, recollects to himself the past quarter century that shaped his personal and in turn his professional life, with his friend, Dr. Richard Whiteside, at his side through most of it. 2518 BILLION DOLLAR BRAIN : This was the third Harry Palmer film, based on the books of Len Deighton, following the adaptations of The Ipcress File and Funeral in Berlin, and helped to confirm Michael Caine as an international star. This is the last of the trilogy which veered nearer to the Bond territory, with its tale of world domination, silvery sci-fi settings and larger-than-life baddie. Also starring Karl Malden and Ed Begley and directed by Ken Russell. Colour some fade, works well with a green filter. £59.99

2519 MY SON IS A CRIMINAL : Former police chief Tim Halloran Sr. (Willard Robertson) fully expects his son Tim Jr. (Alan Baxter) to follow in his footsteps, instead, the younger Halloran opts for the easy road of crime. Tim Jr.'s notoriety increases, and Tim Sr. comes out of retirement to put an end to his son's criminal activities. A stark, startling ending in this gripping 40’s thriller. Good B/W print. £34.99

2520 THE REBEL : Tony Hancock gives up his office job to become an abstract artist. He has a lot of enthusiasm, but little talent, and critics scorn his work. Nevertheless, he impresses an emerging very talented artist (Paul Massie). The sideline characters are all magnificent from John Le Mesurier as Hancock's completely unimaginative boss, George Sanders as the art dealer, Irene Handl is on top form as Mrs Cravat who regards all Hancock's efforts as a load of miscellaneous rubbish and Dennis Price's Jim Smith, an eccentric French millionaire. 2521 THE THIEF OF BAGHDAD : In ancient Bagdad, Abu, a good-natured young thief (Sabu), befriends the deposed king Ahmad (John Justin) as both are imprisoned in the palace dungeon, awaiting execution under orders from the evil vizier Jaffar (Conrad Veidt), who has seized the throne. But they escape and make their way to Basra, and the adventure begins. Multi Oscar winning classic. Colour slight fade, with a green filter it looks like Technicolor, excellent condition. £129.99

2522 THE AMATEUR GENTLEMAN : A innkeeper, is accused of stealing from a party of guests at his Tavern. He is arrested and thrown in prison and his son, knowing that his father did not commit the crime poses as a wealthy gentleman in an effort to find out who framed his father and why. 2523 KENTUCKY JUBILEE : The mood of Kentucky Jubilee is a humorous and stylized comedy with lots of musical numbers. The plot centres around crimes, journalism, and small town life. It takes the form of a fantasy in the mythical country of Adanac, featuring arch bigot Jonathan Mole, Mrs. Platitude, Professor Short Sight and other characters. 1603 THE SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD : In colonial Boston, a young silversmith's apprentice finds himself befriended by the Sons of Liberty and caught up in events of the American Revolution. 1605 SUGAR RAY LEONARD VS ROBERTO DURAN : This has to be the finest boxing match ever for the 1980 Welter weight championship of the world. 1606 CHANNEL ISLANDS: Classic British Transport production from 1952. The Channel Islands have a varied and exciting history. Jersey offers a wide variety of attractive bays for relaxation; Guernsey still preserves something of an eighteenth-century atmosphere, and is a place for quieter enjoyment. 1616 SKATERDATER : Very rare award winning short from 1965 about a skateboard club and one of it's members turning away when his interest turns to a pretty girl on a stingray bike.. A memorable short film with great atmosphere and was in fact nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Film in 1966 Also a great sound track by Davie Allan and the Arrows. 1625 ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS : a mystery and suspense anthology hosted by the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock. Each 30 minute episode included opening and closing vignettes featuring Hitchcock who would often explain some aspect of the day's show. Here is a very rare episode entitled Day Of The Bullet.
