IS THERE SUCH A THING AS AN ORIGINAL ELMO 25MM LENS FOR THE 16MM PROJECTOR?

Hi there out there in Filmland!

I've been looking for a 25mm (or sometimes referred to as an 1 inch) lens for my 16mm Elmo projector.

But I heard from a film friend in the US today that he thought a 25mm original Elmo didn't exist! There are aftermarket lenses and adaptors that will make you end up with a 25mm in the end, but it would be nice to have an original one!

I know there are 38mm lenses. Got a picture of one of those here.

Can anybody out there in Filmland confirm one way or another if Elmo made a 25mm lens or not?

Take care! KURT!

Don't know about the lens, but I've bought adapters so I can use Eiki lenses. So if an Eiki lens exists, should be possible

Sorry, not much I can help with beyond this

Thanks Vidar!

I will find a way to end up with 25mm in the end!

I got such a short distance from my projector to my screen so I must have a 25mm to get "the experience"!

If there is an original Elmo out there I'll hunt it down! If not I just have to use adapters etc.....

Hi Kurt, I'm just guessing, but it might mention available lenses etc in the rear of one of their 16mm manuals, I'm only thinking that they used to do that sort of thing with their 8mm stuff like the ST1200s & the GS1200s, in the back of the booklet there was always mention of extras available.

I use a 20mm lens for short distance. But you have the best sharp picture with your 38mm lens or the zoom lens is also fine. I have also two different converter and the picture is in combination with the 38mm nice. But often is the 20mm essential the best option. If you find one for sale, you have to pay lot of money.
