Ive said it before and il say it again. That is a lovely looking machine but if i had one i would want ot to have been serviced by Bill Parsons which unfortunatly can no longer be the case these days. Nice condition too.

Thank you Tom & Eivind, it's newer than the other one, but not sure by how much, it has a digital counter, some work needed on it but it's a work in progress :-). Enjoy Blackpool Eivind, would have loved to have met up with you but as mentioned, I've spent enough on Cine this year and I do like being Married

Mark,

I had a Fuji SH30 for many years, lovely machine, especially the optical output, but be warned the microswitches on the control knob wear, I had to have 3 sets replaced over the years, but this is a minor gripe, but as this is effectivly a new machine, you will have the original Fuji micro switches, should be all right for a few years, but there are much sturdier ones on the market nowadays than the 1980's (or earlier), as they say forewarned is not a bad idea, other than that little grumble it's a lovely machine with a very nice lens included.

Looks like a great haul, Eivind!

Just curious how's the colour on ROLLERCOASTER RIDE? I had 2 copies come in recently but both have faded.

I haven't watched it with a projector yet, but it seems pretty red. The few copies I have seen screenshots of online have also been pretty faded. Have you seen a decent colored copy somewhere, or have they all faded?

There's a copy on YouTube with very good colour (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEB9Pk-4oiM) but as you've pointed out all prints I've seen for sale recently are red.

Hey Del,

What is the sound like on Pieces of Silver. I have 3 copies but the sound isn't great on any of them and should be re-recorded if only I could find a source of the whole film.

HI Tom, Its very wowed on two print and Bassey on the other. Reading the other forum report the sound is not brilliant either so assumed all prints are not that good. However i suspect the 16mm prints have good mono sound.

Ill take a run of it later tonight. I always thought it good but will let you know. I think there is a few seconds within the first couple minutes where there is a short wow but overhall the quality and clarity is very good.

A 400' sound digest in 16mm from Castle Films, "A Christmas Carol" (a.k.a. "Scrooge") from 1951. I made an offer on a Buy-It-Now listing on eBay last night, and the seller accepted it. I have wanted a copy of this for awhile now, with the original box. I look forward to adding this to my small collection of Christmas themed films. :-)

I still enjoy collecting the old Standard & Super-8 B & W silent digests. I got these in over the last couple of weeks.

Hi Graham, the sound is stunning, ran it through the Beaulieu and it looked and sounded great. Just looked for you but can't see anything out there for a re record, listed on IMDB but that is all, would love to re record mine into stereo, now that would sound something else.

A bunch of 180 ft reels full of std 8 sound black and white cartoons, about thirty in all! Including Walton Paramount Noveltoons, old Castle Walter Lantz cartunes (!), old Van Beuren Tom and Jerry from the early thirties, one Columbia Scrappy, one Starewicz and several Film Office Disneys. Among the last are two in cinemascope: "Hooked Bear" and "Bearly Asleep" These two, have also been released by Derann in color and 'scope but to find them in 'scope and sound from the standard 8 era is rare indeed! I only watched them briefly in a moviola as I separated them in one reel each,as I have a problem with my projector. Collectors may be aware of a similar case with a Japanese monster movie from Columbia, the title of which escapes me, which was also released, unknowingly, unsqueezed!

Just got back from what has to be one the greatest hauls of film I've ever had, super 8mm and 16mm films and a mass of super 8mm trailers including Home Alone, Miracle On 34th Street, Jaws, Ben Hur, Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines & The Abyss to name a few, but the icing on the cake was a title I have longed for for years 2 x 600' Gremlins in stereo, happy days, also Prince & The Pauper, The Snowman, Mickeys Christmas Carol & Never Ending Story all 600'.

16mm included The Outlaw Josey Wales scope, The Gauntlet scope and Shout At The Devil scope and a mass of Disney IB Tech prints.

I watched one of the films from my latest haul last night, it is an 80's video film, Another Brick in the Wall & Video Killed The Radio Star 200'. This was really good, colour was good and sound was stereo, looks like it could have been a Spanish release with the writing on the beginning and end of the film, but it's all in English that's the main thing.
