If it works properly, 300 Euro ... Can’t get sound on it though and before running forwards, I need to reverse.

Weird, and it smell slightly oily

Does it have a built in speaker? I have no idea why you have to reverse before forward. 300 euro seems cheap for a Fumeo. May need some service. Ebay?
( I had to use a FRENCH manual to get sound in my Beaulieu as I didn´t know how to set the controls )

I was thinking the same, no built-in speaker. Will test external speaker tomorrow ... Someone asked if I knew where he could sell it, I was told to make an offer.

Have to say Andy i never in a month of Sundays expected to get into it at all. Only a year ago we were thinking of just selling what 16mm we had as the nt1 was simply not performing at all. Once i started to look at film prices and what you can buy i decided,as you know, to have a go and today i am very pleased i did. Apart from getting the titles not availible on 8 the most important thing is that it does give my 8mm projectors a hit of a break. But 8mm is of vourse our main stay and always will be soley die to the space 16 does take. The projectors are for me quite impressive with ease of maintainance.
I think i have space in my currunt house for at least 200 but i am goin to be sensible and stick yo an aeady yo maintain 30.
The film room is my currunt storage but i do have an under house garage which would make a ridiculous amount of storage. If i had the ability i could turn the whole of my lower ground into an awesum smcinema measuring around 25ft long and 12 wide but unfortunatly i dont gave the skills or dosh so i make do with my den.
Hopefilly all my 16s will be 80s or 90s items. This way i should have no fade issues at all.

You have tremendous facilities there Tom with an unbelievable amount of potential.

If only I lived in Truro!

Most conversions can be done on a shoe string budget with some careful savvy buying and doing it all yourselves.

I'd love a day of "changing rooms" if only it were possible in the real world! 😁😁

Many nice finds can be made on the later 16mm prints. The heydays were over and they weren´t screened regularly, like the earlier copies. And best of all, they are on lowfade filmbase. I found an almost mint print of Disney´s "Peter and the Wolf" in a school film collection I bought, some years ago. I´m very happy to be able to collect all formats except 70mm.

Thanks Del! 😁😁

Nipped off for a mo for a little leisurely Brunch!😁😁

For the record Tom actually lives in the city of Plymouth some 55 miles from the city of Truro which is a city of Cornwall.
One of my favourite destinations in our country.

The county of Cornwall is host to the best beaches and coastal walks in our country so far as I'm concerned.
A beautiful part of the world.

Vidar the fumeo does have a built in speaker so whats happened to yours I wonder ?. These do have a known issue with low sound , I have one with this problem just not got around to sorting it yet. I have a manual for this , although its not that great I will upload to the manuals section in a pdf file, and the beaulieu manual too ......

I did get the soundworking, must have been poor contact points. I removed the amp fuse to check it heard a crackle when I had put it back in and connect power. Still no sound though, but the crackle was telling me, it has a speaker. The turning the volume knob a little it got sound. Contact spray might help on the cackling noises while turning the knob ... So now looks to work fine, apart from the forward reverse knob which still need to be run backwards before I can run it forwards

Thanks for the feedback. Technical manual followed projector, but no user manual

Looking forward to a Beaulieu manuale, Paul, as I bought a 708 EL Stereo recently. It works fine except rewinding.

Technical manual Vidar ?, its sounds like you have the same manual, but I will upload what I have any way, Hugh kindly sent it me sometime back, the crackly volume controls is what I have too, some servisol switch cleaner might help it though, they are not that great, feel a bit cheap to me.....

That's a Sales Promotional Brochure you have there Vidar. I have the exact same one sent to me by the person who I purchased my own machine from.

The instruction manual is much smaller than this A4 sized brochure and the Service manual is far far thicker.

There is actually another couple of similar advertising brochures issued to dealerships of the day by Beaulieu some of which I also now have.

Btw Mats regarding #889,... it will be the clutch mechanism Mats or even just worn friction linings.
The official type are all still supported by Wittners as are the manuals for these if you'd like an original paper copy.

If nothing else this proves the machine has seen some extensive usage to arrive with you at this point already.
The good news is once the parts are fitted correctly, it will be good to go for another 20+ years so far as the rewind clutch mechanism is concerned.😊

These are an expensive machine to own and in particular to keep up to original spares but if ever there were a machine worth spending all that expense on, you now own one of them Mats.
