I guess we'll never know then. A bit of a "Shirley Valentine" moment here.

Ta Paul, and no,.. no new member called Shirley, I was just becoming adjusted to having a conversation with wall as it first appeared.

What this means is its likely the same print I was interested in myself but I'm pleased it went to yourself as you have the ability to view it pulse synced whereas I don't and most likely never will have.

Watched Reflections USA 200' colour sound last night, I challenge anyone to name all the films shown in it what a brilliant short it is. Also watched Oscars The First 50 Years 200' colour sound, narrated by Jack Lemon, again what a great short, both in excellent condition, Reflections had near perfect colour and The Oscars very good colour.

And of course the Thank You Very Much 200' colour sound scope sequence from Scrooge, I've been humming this all day, perfect colour and perfect print, could have been taken from Oliver, reminded me a bit of Consider Yourself the way it was done.

Did you know that Oliver was due to come out on Super 8 as a full length feature and Derann even got to the stage of getting a negative made but due to shall we say problems with Close Encounters it got cancelled along with the Columbia contract

I've a few more to go at yet mate, but yes the colour in particular on Thank You Very Much was outstanding, I can see that becoming a firm Christmas favourite in the Phillipson household come Christmas, must get it put into stereo though so the sound matches the picture.

David, I always thought Oliver had indeed been released by Derann, you learn something new, gutted as I've been hoping for a copy of that.

Directors daughter sang the Oscar winning song, for Oliver, by luck she was on set when they were auditioning singers, she gave it a go, and it worked perfectly......

My recent purchase from Ian is Mein Kampf 6 x 400 ft series in German on piccolo. Never seen this before, very interested in WW2 all aspects of it ..... including the really bad stuff and there's plenty .......

Not my bag of course Paul, but a real rarity again from Ian.
Well done for bagging it first.

My late father would have watched it over and over with you Paul.
For some reason he was truly fascinated by anything documenting ww2 which I always found bizarre really considering he grew up in the blitz

He must have watched his series of world at war videos over a dozen times each.

My mother is the exact opposite and can't even stand listening to thunder to this day due to the atrocities she witnessed as a pre school infant.

Same here Andrew, my dad would watch the world at war every time it was on, mother exact opposite, but she was subject to the blitz from the perspective of a worker in the munitions factories, and spent most of the rest of the day in the shelters in the local park.......

Funny you should mention this - over 20 years ago my late father recounted to me an incident via a phone call when i was touring with my theatre company. He told me that he'd fallen asleep with the tv on and when he awoke he was looking at the tv and seeing a b/w image of himself as a young man sitting on a bren gun carrier - i presume he woke up and an episode of world at war was on - and to this day although wanting to track down the episode - i haven't as yet - so i really must try to do this.

Its only a shame then David that my Dads videocassettes with this series recorded on them are long gone. Was it ever released on DVD?

Attended a film show in Buffalo NY this past weekend, picked up Creature From the Black Lagoon and Prisoner of Zenda with Peter Sellers in 16mm, along with a few 16mm cartoons, and some regular 8mm Batman. Been looking for Creature for a while, just happened to be standing in the right spot when the seller started to set up.
