You should be able to edit your post for a short time, just because in case you was not aware. Or drop an admin a line and ask for it to be changed.

Raiders is a superb film

I would have loved a 400' of Raiders of the lost Ark, David :-)

If you want to iron it straight, you can have mine :-)

It runs once or so, if I wind it back to front, but starts warping again. Good colours, some stripes, but it s unsellable so you can have it you want to try it.

Thanks for the offer, Vidar! I guess I won't have much luck with ironing the film... If it was plastic, maybe. but I guess acetate won't react much to heat?

The 400ft Marketing Raiders print, does appear fairly regularly all over the place Eivind.

Some on the wonderful auction site will tell you its as rare as hens teeth and therefore command a starting price of £90+ but take no notice of these characters.

One will appear inside only a few weeks or months somewhere, even if you miss out on one and you should never need pay £90!

I never tried ironing it though. I am fairly sure it is not directly on the iron, is it? Between cloths or something. You can have it for free if you want to go Ve it a try, offer stands in case you reconsider

Have you tried to soak in Filmrenew. If not, put the film on a metal spool and soak in a metal can, for some weeks.

Not soaked it, only used it the normal way, also with WD40 and Film Guard. It usually run okay once or twice, but assuming it won't get better. If Eivind won't try, you can give it a go. I bought a new one, so not needing this, but can not get myself to tossing it

I´d like to try. I have never soaked a print. A little bit curious if it works.

Im sure you all know that Raiders was the last film out or Marketing Films but did you know that Steven Spielberg was involved in the editing of the 8mm release.

I am afraid to destroy it with ironing. I guess soaking is better. I don't have Filmrenew, and nowhere to store the soaking for a longer period of time. So I say thanks for the great offer, but Mats can give it a try.

Cool info about the Spielberg edit! :-)

I love it Vidar and to be honest, I cannot believe still, that I have managed to find a print of this one.
In conversation years ago, my friend who I first met when coming back into this hobby used to tell me of how much he had searched for one of these to no avail back then, very sadly. I don't know if he subsequently ever managed to find one or not but I swooped on this the minute I saw it.
It is just such an important piece of cinematography history and wonderful to finally have this film on Super 8mm after I had previously long given up even bothering to search for it.

Just received a few Super 8 films:

1. East German steam trains, b/w silent 200'.
2. Flight of the Phoenix, color sound 200'
3. Pink Panther, Pink Valiant, color sound 200'
4. Road Runner, Guided Muscle, color sound 200'

All bought from Barry at a very good price due to the sale on some of them.

Don't forget his quiz either. I sent my answers yesterday. You find the quiz on his page at bfcc.biz

Don't run FROM SOUP TO NUTS at 18 fps. It will be too slow and destroy the rhythm. Run it at 24.

Well, it wasn't a purchase, but a gift from my good friend Tim: An episode of The Flintstones on 16mm: The Long Long Weekend (1961). I will watch it this weekend, but I peeked at the film to the light, and it looks really good with lots of blue left. I have wished for a Flintstones for some time which Tim knew. I really look forward to watch this one! Thanks a lot, Tim!

I received these three Super-8 features from my friend David Ullom on Facebook just yesterday. David recently sold off his entire film collection and myself, and other members here picked up several titles. The three features are:

1. ABC Films: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. (1938 version)

2. Niles Films: Ghosts on the Loose. (1943) The East Side Kids, Bela Lugosi and Ava Gardner!

3. The Thing: (1951) Not sure which company released this, but I remember it being sold in Red Fox Films catalog in the early 1980's.

I'm looking forward to watching all of them soon and want to thank David for the great deals he offered to everyone.
