I like the film myself. Redford and Fonda are great

Picked up two boxes from Mr. Guest ... Unsure about the top 1600' box, it contains one of the two titles, I think it is Love and Bullets

Thanks David

Something to do for a few days here :-)

Yesterday went to getting the Love and Bullets onto reels. It was on 100' reels and did not stay that way. It fell off when removing from box, so used a lot of time to get it reeled up. I wish there at least was cores, so I could use my split spool

My latest (and modest) buy: "Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed" (1969) 200'/standard 8/silent. :-) Because I have more options for viewing standard 8, I have been concentrating more lately on finding these. Does anyone know if this was ever released in color/sound?

Close encounters scope trailer, looks to be very good colour on this, at a good price too, will compliment the feature nicely, win win.

My latest film purchases are the Derann feature print of Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines and the DCR feature print of Oh Mr. Porter. Time to get the Filmguard out again

Also today was two pairs of Spondon long play units and a ISCO-OPTIC centavision scope lens as well as the nicest looking super 8 spool I have ever seen in my entire life, 2400' and it's chrome, it's sexy

Superb set of goodies there Del!!!

The Spondon's eh!

Just like that number 53 bus all over again.
You wait an eternity for one, then two come at once! 😂😂😂

Thank you Andrew, just checked both pairs and they are fine, a couple of new boards wouldn't do them an injustice but already on the case with regards to that and probably a new ac adapter needed. Nice condition though.

Yes Del, I sourced a new mains adaptor for mine when I first got it. The one it came with was underpowered.

It's worked perfectly well ever siince. Not had any trouble at all with the tiny motor controlling board so I cannot advise there except to say you won't find one exactly the same now but the components within it are very readily available if you can diagnose what's wrong with it

It should allow full voltage and current flow to the motor when switched to rewind mode and using the potentiometer, it should vary between o-12v when in run mode.

A very simple circuit really but highly effective.

The Spondon also makes for the very best and easiest film cleaning rig of any!

Great find Tom!
I'm glad you've splashed out on a new full feature to add to your already vast collection again there mate.

I am looking forward to the resulting screenshots.

Keeping fingers crossed here Andy as it was purchased on the understanding of a return as it wasn't advertised as faded or fading,(which most of these are now),
Upon first look through the first few feet it looks promising, price was very good but this may be for a reason.
Will hopefully be viewing Saturday evening after inspection and filmguarding.

If its like mine Del you can get the parts easy enough on flea bay. The earlier one's look like there on bread boards for prototyping, and mine had been bodged very badly by an
idiot who could not solder to save his life, how it survived the postage wrapped in brown paper is a miracle. If you upload some pictures and its like mine I can get some inside
photo's of the bits to help you, I have a power supply but I don't think its the right one, but it works fine.

It's a small proper circuit board that mine came with that fits inside the rear leg of the unit with the potentiometer passing through to the front via a hole drilled in the oblong box section.

As said, it has always worked well from day one once I married it up with the correctly sized power supply.

Before that, the one which came with mine was permanently stinking hot and totally under rated based on the motor / gearbox specs I saw at RS for my unit.

All these units were hand built let's not forget by a keen member of the film hobby community, so credit should be given to the overall standard of workmanship carried out when producing these.

I don't doubt it Andrew, but mine had been repaired very badly by someone other than the original maker, what a mess it was too, would not have passed a pat test, maybe a pratt
test .

Thanks Mark I will post photo's of both sets, putting them both on new boards, don't like the look of the old ones, the units themselves look ok.

RS do an alternative motor controlling circuit board, but I don't think it's small enough to fit in the rear leg of the Spondon unfortunately Del.

Might even be a RF original with any luck?

Seriously Luuuuuuuuush colour if it is!! 😂😂

What's the circuit board you've been eyeing up Del?
