From yesterdays haul at Norwegian club meeting, I got some old westerns on 16mm, Trinity and a few others, most red :-/ ... 16mm cartoons and also a few Super 8's ... Not checked through yet.

Without ever seeing the feature previously, I liked "raise the titanic" and didn't find it drawn out at all.
It takes until reel three before the vessel is raised, but it adds to the suspense by giving the audience the realistic insight of what would be involved in such a mammoth task including all of the political implications in keeping with the storyline as well as many break throughs from research and experimentation.

It also took them an age in this story to actually locate the beast.

I found the story flowed well at pace and certainly wasn't at all like watching Lord Of The Rings or Avatar.
All great films but very very drawn out storylines.

It must be better than the Cameron Titanic ... That is imo booooooring. Prefer the one with Stanwyck

:-) Different taste ... I love my Terminators, Woody Allen's, Coppola, old David Lynch (he turned awful with his Inland Empires) and also enjoy Jim Jarmusch and of course the Spielberg, Dante, Landis and so on

Surprisingly, no other bidders on it. I bet the fact that it wasn't listed as a sound film went in my favor. :-) But I pay attention to those little stickers in the bottom right corner! :-)

I just won Super 8 Clash of the Titans - one of my all-time favorites as a kid. Should arrive in a few days, think that would be a nice one to watch and spend a little time with my films and projectors again!

Pictures, please, when you screen it?

Is it the 3x400'?

Just received in the mail today: A 3-pack of new/old stock film reels & cans (for some 200' sound Disney reels that I have) and a 200' title that I've wanted for quite some time, "A Tour of Universal City Studios" from Castle Films. I plan to create some artwork to place inside of the film cans, being as they are clear plastic. :-)

Tim: I remember watching a program in the early 80s where they had a tour at one of the film studios. I was so fascinated, so I still remember it today! So if I ever get to watch a copy of that, I am sure it will bring back many memories :-)

Michael: Before I got a projector that took 1200 reels, I almost bought films with too large reels many times, but I discovered it at the last minute each time :-)

Hi guys,

i believe it is the final 14 minutes of the feature which takes in the final gunfight - i have also been told that this was one of the final digests released by derann.

Recieved today Tom & Jerry in The flying cat and the Derann 600ft version of Raise the Titanic.
The later is flat which is a shame but its better than nought.

Have i told anyone i'm after Die Hard?

I received a couple of reels this week. :-) One being a 200' silent digest of "Studio Stoops" (1950) with the Three Stooges. The other being a 400' color/sound digest of "Hennessy" (1975). The latter came in a nice original box with the added bonus of a 2-sided order form for Walton Films. I took a close-up photo of the prices for the various versions available. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing "Hennessy". It is my understanding that the film had difficulty finding a distributer in the U.K. back in the day due to some of the subject matter (a terrorist plot against members of the royal family).
