I am not a millionaire, but would like to hear what someone want to offer one of these for. I haven't had much luck with cement on this yet, but will check my print next time if it's still together.
CIR is sooo much easier

If you fly over to Aberdeen I will give you a couple of lessons in the Black Art of mastering cement joins Vidar. hahaha !
Vidar,
I know they were available, but finding one at a decent price (under £100, I would say!) will be very hard indeed, it took me 15 years to find a Standard 8 C.I.R. at a decent price (I paid £58, I was lucky), and they are more common.
Yes Barry CIR 9.5mm splicers are as rare as Hen's Teeth. They were hard to get even when they were advertised for sale.
If I get one at about 100, I'd be happy. I think 300 is too much for me
Good find, Barry, at 58, I'd be extatic
:-)

Joining 9.5mm with cement is quite tricky. Not all cement will work. It is a question of trial and error with different makes.
Two years ago I discovered that CIR in Italy were still making 9.5mm tape splicers brand new. I took the plunge, rather expensive, but a nice little unit.
Total cost was 268 EUR. Made up by splicer @ 193 EUR. Post to United Kingdom @ 33 EUR. VAT @ 22% @ 42.46 EUR.
For anyone interested it is described as 9.5 Pathe Film Splicer/Amateur metal ver. Commodity code 90105000.
