"sent" message not in "sent messages"

Why don't my "sent" messages show up in "sent messages" in the "Private Messages" page? I only sees stuff in my "inbox".

Mine is below the inbox, what does it say if you scroll past inbox? Does it say Sent messages with nothing underneath?

Oh, I think you have to tick a box when sending, if I remember correctly

Nothing underneath.

Oh, I see you need to check "save a copy" when sending. That's weird.

Yes you need to tick that box unless your own message is lost from reviewing it. I've fallen into that trap a few times as in a rush, I clicked SEND before I ticked that box and I cant see what I wrote unless the recipient send's it back to me. Frustrating.

I've been using all sorts of email and messaging systems for almost 40 years and I've never seen sent messages not saved by default.
