A good old classic, this is my favourite version of this story which was released as Scrooge here in the UK but as A Christmas carol on the states.
So many versions of this Charles Dickins have been made over the years, at least four or more before this one, but the B/W version of this 1951 release is one of the best, you have to laugh at some of the versions in later years though, while in Know the 1970 musical version is very much liked by many, I just couldn't get it myself, the final number is on super 8 as a 200ft scope version with the original end title, We did have it some years ago. There was another big production version with George C Scott playing Scrooge, again, it didn't do anything for me, There was Ebenezer with Jack Palance, . Another one with Patrick Stewart in 1999, and one of the most embarrassing versions to watch is the 2000 version with TV hardman Ross Kemp as "Eddie Scrooge, this is when the world of PC and woke started to drift in. The only two versions I view other than this one is The muppet Christmas Carol with Michael Caine, done for good laughs and works well, and Mickeys Christmas Carol. Everyone will have there own favourites as there are literally dozens to choose from, it has to be one of the most remade story's in the world of film.
