Here are some pics from one of the prints I have of the 1983 film "Valley Girl" with a young Nicholas Cage and a cute Deborah Foreman. The story is loosely based on Romeo and Juliet, where Julie, a Valley Girl, meets a Hollywood punk rocker, Randy, played by Nicholas Cage. It is ka story of love from the wrongside of the tracks, but does capture the spirit and pop music of the 1980's that I grew up in.
I understand that music rights to several songs originally in the film had not been properly agreed upon. So there are some early prints that have these "unauthorized" tracks before a new and authorized soundtrack was made. The Clash song, "Rock the Casbah" and Culture Club's "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" are two songs that were subsequently removed.
Anyway, a fun movie from a simpler time...
