Its been sad to follow the devastating news that Blackpool Odeon Cinema may be closing last year. It was recently confirmed that it will close on the 4th of June and be developed into a activity centre. Needless to say in its infinite wisdom the Council decided to build its own cinema which will be next to the train station in the new build complex having semi forced the closure of the Odeon siting lack of investment.
I went to that cinema the day it opened and will pop in on the final day. It's been quite a thing for me as we love that large cinema, we watched the 35mm being removed and the Digital going in amongst other interesting events. Calling in over the holiday we had a final look around the long projection box all Dig but you could sort of imagined the sound of the 35mm machines still turning over. Talking to the team its a shame they couldn't have lasted a little longer to see the release of the new Indy film and go out on a high.
