Today’s matinee was the 1973 action movie The Stone Killer on 2 x 1600 reels.
The film was directed by Michael Winner and starring Charles Bronson and Martin Balsam with music by Roy Budd.
It’s quite a violent film, but what else would you expect from Winner/Bronson,where tough detective Bronson is transferred from NYPD to the underworld of Los Angeles, where he uncovers a scheme, being carried out by ex Vietnam vets at the behest of a Sicilian mafia boss to murder all his mafia friends so he can run the organisation.
This in retaliation for a similar hit known as the “Sicilian Vespers” some forty years before.
If you like Bronson and a good action thriller you will not go wrong with this one
A few pics from my phone.
My copy I would describe as reasonable as unfortunately there are some deep emultion lines.
