Thank you Eivind for the excellent photos, much appreciated, it's like being there. These photos here are better quality than the other site. It's a shame that also Dom is not a member here as he took some good photos also.
Frustratingly I thought I couldn't go this year due to family situation again but realised late on I could have got away for 2 days but too late to book then. I will plan to go next year, hopefully it will go ahead again.
How many through the door this year? hopefully the organisers did not make a loss.

Later on when everyone is back home, it'll be interesting to hear what any of the Q & A's were with Ged and also what bargains anyone may have picked up,
Thank you to everyone who has put up the images.

It did not look that well attended this year on the sales day, with nearly as many people behind the tables as there was in front, that can't bode too well for further events, i think ebay has put the final nails in the coffin of these events. I didn't see the point of having a arc lamp fumeo showing black and white short films, when Derann did so many excellent colour features, surely this was a chance to show off some of there best output for anyone new to the hobby, and why a 35 mm projector ?, showing a black and white film ?, i'm sure there are plenty of 35 mm colour films out there. I noticed the cinema was setup at 4.00pm to show
new releases?, how many stayed behind to watch ?, any photo's? around about the time that most people heading for home..............

On the contrary; I think it was very well attended! Some of the pictures were taken while there was a film show going on too. There were way more attendants than dealers.
The one thing eBay will never be able to provide is a weekend where you can meet other people with the same interest. I have absolutely loved every minute of this convention, and been talking to people most of the time. How wonderful to have an entire weekend to share this and watch film together! And when it comes to buying films; here you can look at the covers, and take a peek at the colors on the film before you buy. There will always be loads of films on eBay, but it has been like this for many many years already, so I can't see how that can affect this any more than it already has.
And for the 4pm show: It was actually quite full in the projection room!
I don't understand why you write all of this. I posted the pictures to share a some of what I have truly enjoyed this weekend. If this is not your cup of tea, that is perfectly all right, but why talk down something other people enjoy? What good does that do to the community? I would much rather read about what you enjoy in the world of films!
I will just say a big thanks to the group of people that arranged all of this on their spare time. Hats off for those who put down hard work for me and other people's enjoyment! I had a great time and look forward to come back next year.

I just wondered how many from this forum went to the blackpool weekend ?, as the response from those on here appears to be thank for the photos, but it wasn't worth going. What i would like to ask is, how many of those like minded film buffs were actually member of the forum here ?, and if that's none, including those shots of the people around the tables, why aren't you promoting this forum more when you have a golden opportunity to do so, are your loyalties elsewhere these days. I wait with baited breath as to all the fantastic bargains everyone's found, or will they just end up on ebay ? 20 years ago it was a much better event, sadly now its turned into a church jumble sale, where people are getting rid of there red prints and films they couldn't sell to anyone, including some of the nutters on ebay.............

Judging from the pics it looked like a great time. It appeared there may have been a few more dealers at the show this year, and I have heard that attendance was up for the Saturday evening dinner, by over 20%.
I attended last years show at Blackpool and had a lot of fun. I could not attend this year due to not enough vacation remaining on the books for the year. My thanks and appreciation to those who worked a lot of hours to put on a nice event for the film collectors who were able to attend.
I hope to attend in 2023. I am looking forward to Eivind's video report once he has time to edit and compile his footage.

Paul, if you are concerned about few people coming to this forum, I think you should reflect a bit on how your posts in this thread would affect people who enjoyed the convention. Do you think it helps to get more people here?
I am not going to comment on your remark to my loyalty. Film collection is a hobby. Hobbies are meant to be fun. This is not making it more fun. The convention made it more fun, though.

I had a great time there Paul, it was definitely a very different atmosphere in a good way, plenty of films and attendance was very good, Saturday meal had 72 which is a good number. I'm glad I went and this is someone who is hanging in the hobby, I'm sure if you went then you would have a much more positive response, Mark

my concern is you seem to be pre occupied with promoting this has "fun hobby" but when presented with a captive audience, did not it appears to promoted this forum. As with the other channel so many just sit on the fence when they join up here, to see what they can get for free, or promote a sale or seek something and contribute nothing in return, there is only a few people who actually get involved with any input, you are one of them but you missed a trick here to get more members at such an event, surely you can see that ?. I think Tom is one the only main members who put anything up worth reading, i only contribute a little, but its more than some do.....
