A little short i purchased off Barry some weeks ago that i had heard of, but never found until now.
This reel is pretty much as the title suggests and is introduced and features Jack Lemmon. This reel is a 200ft edition of a 1977 documentary from America. The reel contains some rare footage with a host of stars and short clips. The reel ends with a song and dance number from Liza Minnelli.
Like Reflections and precious images, this is one of those reels that belongs in any film collection and will make a great opener for any film shows.
The quality is pretty good, if anything, maybe a little on the grainy side in places but this may be due to the sourced material. but overall, a good print with very good sound.
Like another Derann release about the Academy awards, this one also features Charlie Chaplin receiving an award in 1972, as part of a renewed appreciation for his work. He continued to be held in high regard, with The Gold Rush, City Lights, Modern Times, and The Great Dictator ranked on lists of the greatest films.
Quite amazing really as the Americans accused him of being a communist sympathiser and was forced into exile by the US Government.
