Personal issues

#1 by Vidar Olavesen , Fri May 18, 2018 4:25 pm

Having personal problems and now it is time for me to give this up.

If anyone want to continue the forum, do let me know. I need to step away even more than I been lately

All added problems on here is too much, I need to try to fix family issues

Sad to give up, but seems it is time. Hope someone would carry on, so if interest, speak up

Well that is once again Vidar, extraordinary sad news we are hearing.
I hope you can work though all of your family issues and find a way of gaining the required solace you no doubt seek.

The forum can continue with you visiting it as regularly or as infrequently as life may allow you to do so.
If you want rid of any or all financial involvement with this platform you know only too well I will stand by it willingly and financially to support its well being.

All else can remain as is.

It is important that you get to solely concentrate on matters in hand and also that everybody's efforts and input here hasn't all been for nothing.
It is equally important on this note to allow this forum a long and prosperous future so far as anyone can ever see into the future.

I wish you well in whatever paths life takes you along and look forward to hearing of your eventual decision regarding our forum Vidar.

I am away now from this forum for the next 14 hours or so but if you'd like to speak with me on a public or private basis regarding any of this breaking news here today, then by morning I will be contactable once again.

Concentrate on matters of importance to you Vidar as Maurice quite correctly just stated and we are all behind whatever you decide to keep all parties involved safe and sound.

All the very best to you Vidar and thank you again for introducing this forum in the first instance. It is, and has been throughout, most appreciated by all I'm certain.

Very sorry to learn that you have these personal problems, Vidar; sorting those out is more important than any forum. This is a hobby, which we all very much enjoy, but not that great in the grand scheme of things; health and family are the two most important.

Health and family are the two joint most important things in life.
All else is simply a bonus for when times are good in our lives.

I have to say that I seriously doubt that under a new owner, everything will remain in place. The new owner will probably wish to make changes, and that will probably include Moderating, which they may wish to do themselves. I only returned to help Vidar at what was a difficult time. Once a new owner is announced, I shall step down and leave the forum altogether, to concentrate on other interests.

Thanks all, very nice to get support. What I really need is for someone to take over the forum as main admin, as I feel sick every time about hard decisions. I do not need the extra worry, I want to try to get my relationship with my wife better again. I would love to stay on as member and post some, just can’t handle the tough choices

Thanks again

#13 Robert, you are owed a great debt of gratitude for stepping in as moderator, and losing you as moderator and member does not bode well at all for the direction and future of this forum. I have received PMs and emails to this effect. I know your stepping down would make me quickly rethink my (relatively short) membership, as being a forum member should be an enjoyable experience, not a burdensome one.

Sadly, the last vestiges of the previous version of the forum have claimed yet another member. Thank you, Vidar, for at least trying to provide a positive forum experience as it relates to our hobby. All the very best to you —

Wishing you the very best Vidar, and I hope things get resolved soon, whatever they may be. Robert, thank you for coming onboard again. Your leadership on here has been a breath of much needed fresh air. (I have sent you a PM.) Like John, I too will depart the forum once you and Robert have left the site. I do wish everyone well that decides to stay on.

I hope Vidar can still continue to participate with his forum even if it is taking more of a back seat and only visiting now and again if that is how it has to be for him for the foreseeable or immediate future.
Wives do soon get fed up with our over zealous interest in our hobbies at times as I certainly know from my own experiences over my entire adult lifespan so far, but we all know how much Vidar loves his films and therefore hopefully a home friendly balance can be found that suits all.

So far as the forum itself is concerned, without even knowing who or what is going to change, if anything regarding this forum yet, I am surprised to hear of people already anticipating their withdrawal from the forum as nobody knows what changes, if any, will occur.

Whoever eventually fronts this forum , it won't ever stop me from wanting to participate among it. If you like your films, why not share that interest with many others here or places similar?

My wife made me a ruling that only twice from a possible five days when she arrives home from work in the week, does she want to see a projector tied close to our dining room wall! 😁😁

I obeyed her,..now there's real true love for you!

If I was by myself, the thing would never make it back to its case! 😁😁

Forum is closing unless anyone want to take over. Appreciate your supporting messages, would wish it was not going down, but I am all tapped out with no energy to handle the choices needed to be taken

Facebook page will remain, as there is no mess there, mostly good on point posts and no quarrels. Would love to keep contact with all on Facebook, be honored to have you as friends there

Is this site actually closing or can this situation be rectified and if so - how ? As there aren't many good forums like this about and surely we can keep this going ?
