Dick Hertz (hurts)

#1 by Andrew Woodcock ( deleted ) , Fri Nov 24, 2017 11:18 am

Are u sure Vidar?

I will delete immediately mate once you approve.

In fact I think the same action is appropriate for around the last six or seven people that have been accepted here. Capnbirdseye,..again r u sure????

I await your approval to delete the lot.

I think some of our admin methods of verification might need a little more care and attention for the future to avoid hoax members.

I like to think the best of people until they prove me wrong. How sure are you it is not a real name? I am not too suspicious a person I guess.

About 99.9999999999 reccurring percent Vidar but if you want them all here, it's your forum buddy.

I seriously doubt the member we have here is one and the same person but I suppose time will tell based on the input from all of these new guys.
As and when we do hear back from them, my first question will be is Capnbirdseye really your real name?

My best guess is we will never hear back from any but I hope I am wrong.

But how shitty would I be to delete one that is real person? If they start spamming, sure, but if they do no wrong, I still like to give people the benefit of the doubt

I really suggest such discussions about deleting members or not and similar discussions is done behind closed doors.

It matters none to me either way Eivind.

If I was the new genuine and completely sincere member that was perhaps being accused of maybe joining here under an acronym, I'd want to hear about it and put the record straight right away, even if my name just so happened to be Dick Hertz or Dick Turpin.

As expected though, that hasn't happened here again has it? Not in any of the cases mentioned.

Discussed in private, the first these innocent newbies would know about it is when they are possibly deleted.

Capnbirdseye is (or was) me! I use that name on several forums I frequent for my other interests such as Pinball machines & collecting ancient Islamic and Indian coins where I also moderate one of the boards.
I registered here using that name because it actually says when registering 'Username (nickname in forum)' the nickname part needs removing because it confused me & no doubt others too
However Vidar emailed me straight away to request my real name which I was happy to do, I also use my real name on Fb coin forums

That's great news Vic and finally welcome!
We always like to know who we are sharing conversation with here and in your particular case,. now we do. 😊😊

I hope all other new members with shall we say, somewhat curious names here, prove to be as sincere as you yourself clearly are Vic.

Thank you for putting the record straight and thank you for amending your details.
There is an issue with the wording of our registration rules here that can lead to confusion as you've quite correctly pointed out here, however what I will also say is there is barely a week passes by without one of the admin members here highlighting clearly just what is required to allow swift and easy enrolment to applicants initially applying to the forum using acronyms.

This ALWAYS goes out within our General section of this forum, meaning everybody can see and read it and act accordingly off their own back if they so wish.

I hope you enjoy your time with us all here Vic and hopefully the original wording can be amended to allow things to become crystal clear for all future applicants for this forum.

Did u know there was actually a legit broadcast character in a children's 70's television program here in the UK called Seamen Staines! 😂😂

Captain Pugwash was the crappy animated production.

Can you imagine that happening nowadays! 😂😂

Btw yes it does doesn't it. Te he.

https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=cap...CAB73&FORM=VIRE

I use the word animation very loosely in this particular case. More like a cartoon cut out puppeteer arrangement I'd say!
Probably cost about a fiver an episode back then to produce. 😂😂
