Peter Sallis, aged 96 has died aged 96. Well know as Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine and the voice of Wallace. His appearances on 8mm are few. A rare Wallace and Gromit and a 400ft release of Taste the Blood of Dracula.

R.I.P. Avery respectable age, but still sad

I met Peter at Tewkesbury Roses Theatre a few years ago - funnily enough - the very Theatre where Eric Morecambe's life ended. I went to see a Q and A about his career and life - he was being interviewed by Emma Norman - Barry Norman's daughter - i asked him some questions relating to Doctor Who and his Hammer Horror appearances - he was very gracious in an unassuming way - and at the end of the evening he signed his autobiography for me - a lovely man.
