Carrie Fisher.

Carrie Fisher, the iconic actress who portrayed Princess Leia in the Star Wars series, died Tuesday following a massive heart attack last week. She was 60.

Be very happy when this year finishes. Seems to have been too many passing away.

R.I.P Carrie.

I still love the smell of film in the morning

I had a really bad feeling about this lady when i saw the news the other day that she had suffered a heart attack on an aeroplane.
Another sad loss. I did say the other day what else will we hear before the end of the year, i didn't expect another two in as many days. Also i see the writer of Watership down has passed away today.

Have i told anyone i'm after Die Hard?

It is just incredible what we are experiencing this year. I've truly never known a year like this horrible one!

Such a shame again hearing this news. Here was another lady who died well before her time very very sadly.

So far this year we are now up to 46 different celebrities who have so far lost their battles for life this year.

What a few days we've had in the entertainment industry, sadly when I heard she did not breathe for 10 minutes on the plane from London to L.A. I feared the worse, not many survive an ordeal like that. I loved her in all the "Star Wars" films (especially in that outfit in "Return of the Jedi"), and she's left us with an early 2017 Christmas present, as she recently finished her role in the next film in the franchise.

Not a good year to be a celebrity, far too many gone at such a young age

Not a good year full stop for many of us Del, especially where bereavement is concerned.

Cannot wait for the year to end!

Very sorry to hear this - i heard she'd had a heart attack but didn't hear anything else - what a terrible year for losing people - those close to us and those we admire - i was also saddened by the death of Liz Smith ( The Royle Family) and although i didn't like his music - George Michael

I do still like to go out on NYE and used to love DJing on this particular night.
I'm on work this year though on Jan 1st, so I will probably just go out early evening for a meal with my wife this year.

I wouldn't even ask friends along this year as it just wouldn't be fair given that I will be in bed for ten that night.

All of the losses this year have hit hard for me personally. No more so than Bowie, Prince and now George, away from home.
I have many favourites from all of these artists.

I can see what Tom is saying though when you have lost more looking back on life, than you see from looking forward. It has been a exceptionally rough year this year for us.

With regard to Carrie, some have expressed surprise that she even lived for as long as she did given her lifestyle. Ironically, her mum Debbie Reynolds, is still going strong at 84!

Today I went to the cinema as one does when you have grandchildren, all went to see the new Star Wars film Rogue One.
Personally I thought the film was very good, but you may say what has this to do with Carrie Fisher, well quite simply and brilliantly done is the last shot lasting at most a minute of Carrie.
I will not spoil it further but I think a fitting tribute,it brought a lump to my throat and an audible gasp from the audience given her passing.
For once this film was worth the money especially as one of my grandsons asked who that last lady was!.........well that's a whole new story for him about a galaxy far far away.🎞🎞🎞🎞🎞📽📽

Glad you enjoyed it Gwyn. I've not been to see this one yet. Collateral Beauty will be next for my wife and i, I suspect.

Will do Gwyn, but of course, these kind of movies are very much a case of whatever your tastes are with a movie.

One man's pill....and all.

Hopefully, we will go to see it in the next week at some point.
