9119

There was a thread a while back about manual thread machines so I thought I would show you a pic of my fumeo9119 which has just had a clean and spruce up.Unfortunatley I have lost the cover of the rotary control knob so needs must a new makeshift dark red one.
As can be seen I have placed the scope lens on just for the photo.I have a number of different lens which I can use depending on throw and picture size, location, etc.Runs both mag and optical and I just love manual feed ,you see exactly what is going on.

Lovely machine Gwyn, just have to say though, I've personally never understood the need for a manual thread projector.

If you don't have problems with auto, why inconvenience yourself by having a preference for manual?

That's my philosophy on it anyhow Gwyn.

I don't know quite how you've managed it Gwyn btw, but your image cannot be made larger here in detail, without also inverting it at the same time?????

Andrew,it's most probably me with regard to the manual bit, having worked in cinemas and still occasionally still using 35mm (straw dogs) it's the actual placing the film I don't know the touch of it,placing it in the gate, yes paranoid most probably.
I do have automatic ones in 8mm which I use occasionally it's just a manual thing.I know it's mad but I even manually thread my automatic 16mm projectors,I guess it must have something to do with threading with 35mm .
Sorry don't know why the pic won't enlarge taken using my iPad perhaps I should put the text up first then a separate pic, sorry not sure??
As for inverting well it was the right way up when I took the pic.lol😄😄😄

It's not mad or paranoid Gwyn, just simply a personal preference. I know David Hardy feels the exact same way based on two extremely lengthy posts littered with banter between him and I. 😂😂😂

As said, for my needs, it just has the word "compromise" written all over it, does manual thread.

I never encounter any downside from the Auto thread machines I use nowadays, so I will of course, never be convinced otherwise by anything other than my own way of thinking nowadays with these things.

If I was still continually experiencing problems with auto thread mechanisms in the manner I used to, without experiencing and knowing what I know now, then I too would more than likely view manual thread projectors as the only viable and safe way of projecting Super 8mm film.

Our individual views are all predetermined by our own experiences, past and present, with these things to an extent, I suppose.

Cant beat the sound of any reel film projector and the magic light.( I do think the times really are a changing though from where I'm sitting at the moment)

Picture maximizes fine when I click on it - great looking projector! I wish I had a manual, I too prefer it over auto.

Is the scope mount original or custom made? I need one for my Fumeo

I still love the smell of film in the morning

David, the scope mount came with the machine and as far as I am aware is original as the mounts back plate is a perfect match for the machine.
Having said that the person from whom I purchased both this and my 16mm fumeo came from a person with engineering backround and may well have made this mount.
Sorry not much help.
