Andrew Sachs, Manuel from Fawlty Towers, dies aged 86.

Loved him in Fawlty Towers.

Not much on super 8mm Revenge of the Pink Panther was the only one I could find optical sound which is in my collection.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme Cleese said: “If you met him you would never think for a moment that he was a comedian, you would think he was a rather cultivated bank manager possibly retired, because he was quite quiet and poised and thoughtful. And then you stuck that moustache on him and he turned into a completely different human being. He was wonderful.”

I' fully agree with his comments too. Manuel was Andrews part which he played to perfection.

R.I.P.

I still love the smell of film in the morning

What a great character this actor produced.

I thought it was sad & irritating that the BBC had to even mention that prick Russel Brand who did that dirty trick on him with the other idiot J Ross. Both should have been sacked and never been allowed on British TV again for belittling such a respected actor.

Andrew Sachs was a brilliant actor and he also narrated a lot of wildlife programmes in the 80s, (& i think the early 90s).

Have i told anyone i'm after Die Hard?
