Technically speaking you can't kill Arnold in the "Terminator" so it is kind of like "Die Hard"!

But not in this condition hopefully Gwyn!
I have to confess, I did have a chuckle again when I read the sellers full description! 😀😀😂

You wouldn't think he'd advertise the fact in big letters that's for sure!

I predict it will still sell for £200 - £250 Vidar, but it would never be my money.

What I don't get though mate, whether you mind emulsion scratches or not as a collector, is simply why people never ever seem to learn from the information that's been out there for decades.

This tolerance of "acceptable" being ok, simply doesn't cut it for me.

It's like throwing £100,s regularly down the grid for every new occurrence.

Shear madness to me mate, I have to say.

I am pleased you're not prepared to place silly money on this kind of stuff Vidar.

It's no good any of us left in the hobby, having a pop at people who piece together "Bandsaw" prints whilever there is still the equivalent Super 8mm stuff surfacing continually.
Super 8mm prints should never have been commercially run in any sense of the word, therefore what's the excuse?

I'm sure we can forgive one little misdemeanor Gwyn with regard to politics, however good luck to whoever gets Terminator as it won't be me spending my very hard earned on this. There seems to be a few of these just lately, Little mermaid has just gone for good money and that was far from being a good print as did Hunchback, seems people are now getting desperate and will accept anything.

exactly my point Del.

If a print isn't anything like decent because it has green lines running through most of it, that's one thing, but then to offer it up for sale at anything above a fraction of its original worth is another.

Worse still now, people are seemingly becoming accustomed to these prints being the only ones out there!

In turn they are paying ridiculous sums for what are, no more than spares prints as I call them. Basically you buy them just to obtain one section of the film that is not riddled in emulsion scratches to back up a good print, just in case.

Once it becomes the acceptable norm to offer up prints in any old shape and STILL get very high sums for them, then what chance do we have to get people to do the honourable things by these last remaining prints by learning how to look after these films and their machines properly???

None I'd say!!

I see a far less than perfect print by a long chalk of "The Little Mermaid" sold for £260 yesterday and something else that never ceases to amaze me is, the amount of sellers over on ebay who cannot simply spell the word wear correctly.

You'd have thought, having written it so so many times, they'd have learned how to spell "ware" correctly by now!

What with Trump and all, the world has finally gone well and truly off its rocker!

I suppose this would explain part way at least, why people are prepared to stump up ludicrous sums of money to watch part destroyed prints.

They may feel they don't have long left to do so!😂😂😂

I wonder if it's a fact that new people are getting involved in super 8 due to being left films and equipment from a deceased relative? If this was the case then it would explain why they are paying stupid money for inferior prints, just a thought.
