Ealing

#1 by Bill Parsons , Sat Oct 08, 2016 7:43 pm

I was wondering if anyone from this forum will be going to the BFCC at Ealing, I know Andrew gave it a mention in the Blackpool topic, but thought I would give it a topic of its own.

It is great. Got home with a bag full of film. Nice show too. You are so close, you should absolutely go. I hope for April visit, if they decide to keep it up (I hope they do)

Just a bit Tyler. Bill is part of the fixtures and fittings there, he has been to so many!

I'd expect most of the usual attendees there Bill. I know Kevin will be there, not heard if anyone expects Ian to show this year or not?

Should see some of you there then. The website is useful but doesn't have start times or entry price on it- anyone know?

Doors open at 10am Tyler. Admission price for this year's event, I have no idea except to say it will only be a nominal amount.

The big money is only required for what you may wish to purchase from the dealers, never for the events themselves.

I do not remember, but think it was 5 or 7 pounds. Well worth it

Hope you find new friends too and enjoy the show

I was looking at some of my old photos from the earlier London BFCC’S and found this one of Ian from Perrys and Derek Simmonds, not certain which venue this was, but obviously many years ago.

Thanks Bill, the photo of Ian & Derek is a fabulous nostalgic reminder of just how brilliant these events were and was also supported with top notch product at now what seems highly reasonable prices, in and around that era! 😊

Did they share the same tailor back then btw? Lol.

we would very much like to go, its been around 8/10 years since we went & we thouroughly enjoyed the day.
Unfortunatly the days when all the dealers were there are long gone now.
Derann, Perry's, Indi 8 P Foster and a few others are all no longer there, (or around), however, it is a very friendly atmosphere and there will of course be some films there for sale etc, not to be too critical, there now appears to be a fair amount of dvd junk there to.
If we could do the drive in an hour we would attend every one, i know thats a lame excuse but it can be a long day and theirs a fair chance of coming back with very little.
Hope that doesn't sound too harsh as i do not intend it to be.

Have i told anyone i'm after Die Hard?

It's a fair assessment for the Ealing gig now Tom by all accounts.
Ian until very recently was always there I believe, but I've yet to find out if he intends attending this particular event this year. I don't think he was at the last one either to be honest.

I spoke to Ian this afternoon unfortunately he will not be attending, apparently he does not have enough stock to warrant having a table, but I am sure there will plenty of films and equipment on offer, plus CHS will be there.

We can always rely on Phil turning up for these things still, thankfully.

Thanks for the info Bill and good to hear Ian is doing well whatever he involves himself in these days.

St Benedict's School, Will.

All of the details are on the web page here, by clicking on the "Next Event" active tab. This includes a separate address and postcode for the car park close by plus buses etc.

That Organ really is a sight to behold when you look at it in close detail.
A magnificent piece of craftsmanship!

It would be nice to see it in a movie one day. Something very magical about these things.

if the forcast is good at blackpool I might take it and have it playing out side the Hilton for a hour or so
and have it playing some good tunes like dambusters 633 squadron pirates of the Caribbean and phantom of the opera goldfinger and many more well known film tunes
