A film evening with Vidar

#1 by Eivind Mork , Sun Aug 21, 2016 8:33 pm

I just got home after a very nice day with Vidar. We saw Star Wars, the Empire strikes back and North by Northwest among other shorter things. The day flew by and suddenly I had to go back home to other obligations :-)

Eivind was just as much, even more responsible :-) I am going on, just seen The Day of the Triffids in scope on a 1200' reel, but think they crammed four 400' reels on there. Did not time the whole thing, but saw End of Part 2 about half way and timed it from there. Ran a further 30 minutes. Faded a bit, jumpy as hell, treated with Film Renew and ran smooth. Now watching a Blackhawk of Way Out West

Pictures later

Have that Vidar in scope too. Mine was poor colour from new. Should run about 70 minutes it was an 8 reeler on 4 x 400ft. They did release it complete too it was on ebay last week. Wouldn't have mined it. Even the dvd is poor and everyone I've seen are the same.

I still love the smell of film in the morning

The one I have is b/ w and flat. I think it's 4x 400ft. It's on one big spool now so I can't quite remember.
