I just came from a meeting in the Norwegian film collectors club. As usual I met Vidar there. Mats is on holliday as you might know. Here are a few pictures.

A lot of films where auctioned. And no club meeting without hot dogs and coke (as many if us come straight from work).


We always see a film or two. This is a film from Oslo from the place we were at.


I got several films. Very satisfied with this Norwegian news reel from 1964.

I think that I would love to attend one of your club meetings. I tried blowing up the second picture to see what titles were on the table-LOL! What films were viewed last night?

I hate to miss a club meeting! Fortunately I will be in Norway october 1st, when the Nordic film collectors convention, will be in Oslo.

Sure beats ebay Vidar!

Tim: We viewed a film about the building of the suburb where we were. It was taken over a long time, but finished in 1975. I like things like that. 16mm color and sound.

And we watched Der Fuerer's face. A Donald film made in WWII where Donald has a nightmare about being in Germany and being bullied by the nazis. Quite rare 16mm film.

Mats: I will miss the next meeting at September 23rd at Tom's place. I am tied up with a flee market in my son's band. But I will be at the Nordic film collectors convention October 1st.

I came home with these last night:


Several of them were from earlier deals made privately. Good to save some shipping cost as this is expensive in Norway. Three of the Disney's were bought earlier, and the three Laurel & Hardy's bottom right in metal cans. The big case on the right is a Laurel & Hardy too, bought last night. The Batman film came from a large large lot that Vidar bought. I think he already had it, so he gave it to me as I didn't. What nice man!

Eivind: I will also miss the September 23 meeting.

Nice lot of films to return with Eivind! Two of those look like they might be stop-motion animation. I love films made with that technique. Better even than the CGIs of today.

Vidar is indeed a kind and generous chap!

Yes, they are! They are made by the Norwegian film maker Ivo Caprino. Absolutely all Norwegians (at from my age and up) know about this guy :-) He made the most successful film of all time in Norway.

Search for Caprino here in the forum, and you will find a couple of posts about his film that I have written before. I had both of them on 16mm, but they were in a poor condition.

That's so cool! How often do you guys get together?

We meet six times a year. It is a very friendly club.

In addition there is Nordic meetings, rotating between, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. This is Norways turn this year, Oslo October 1st
