Pretty much Joe yes. As you say, they had to be general public friendly.
So in Lethal Weapon the Fu#@ings were exchanged for flipping and things like the cocaine snorting scene in the toilets in Crocadile Dundee, were completely cut out.

I still find them completely enjoyable though all the same and they all tend to last about an hour and half so you don't feel totally cheated in the way very short digests can leave you feeling.

Obviously family films like A Golden Seal are there in full, it's just the R movies and above that needed censoring to be able to screen them on the Airlines.

How about this common one on eBay tonight......Rising Damp on 2x800 rare for £500.
At that price it can stay rare 📽📽

Phils got it @CHC for about £40. (They are all quite faded now these and so are their soundtracks apparently on this title)
Very low volume levels apparently and/ or other sound issues like background noise or hum.
Back in the day, it was a great British film this one. Leonard Rossiter was a genius comedy performer.
I just wish I could find the Ad reel that contains the Cinzano Martini advert with him and Joan Collins. I still love it to this day!
