Nothing to do with film per se but very much to do with UK television. I have just heard the very tragic news this afternoon that sadly Caroline Ahearne has lost her battle with Cancer earlier today.
Caroline (another mancunian) found fame on British television with shows like Mrs Merton, The Royal Family and more recently Gogglebox as a narrator.
This follows the recent sad loss of yet another Mancunian, Victoria Wood who also left our planet far too soon.
Caroline was only 52 and in these quarters at least, her wit and sheer brilliance as a scriptwriter highlighting all that is genius in northern humour, will be sorely missed.
Today's loss is even more poignant here for me as I am a good friend of her brother from my DJing days. Patrick is a successful music producer as well as a damn fine DJ.
I really feel for my friend here today and my heart goes out to him at this extremely sad time for him.
