I'm a 1955 vintage.
It is my intention to live FOREVER ......... so far so good!
That was the thing Hugh, I never knew anybody as a kid who was obese, as a kid I was never in, it helped living in Blackpool mind you, it was never dull
What no Sergio Tachini, Fila, Van Gils, Marco Polo, Matinique etc etc etc in the 80's Tom?? Ha ha
Not to mention arcades full of space invaders and pacman machines, 12" Singles and Tapes to chuck money away on!
The 80's swallowed up plenty of my money as I remember them Tom.
Ok Ya Mr Wine Bar was Maggie's " yuppie and dinky" Britain back then here. A time for false belief due to our government selling off everything at once, but with it came naive and false foolish optimism for the young.
The Beach pub in Blackpool was pretty good back then as I'm remembering Del!
The place to be on your annual day out to the Vegas of the North! Ha ha ha.
Every table was made from old Singer Sewing machine frames.
Ah Happy Days eh.

.......and our footwear didn't cost the earth just for playing around in, us '50s kiddies were very cost effective.
Adidas Jeans, Wimbledon, ATP, VIP, Lendl ...none were cheap.

Hark at 'im, there were no such things when I wuz a lad Andrew, I started work in short pants as they still fit me!!
Are you talking about Maggie May's Andrew on Central Pier. I once made a tv commercial there with the good lady and a mate of mine and his good lady. Ian liked his beer and every time they did a re shoot he had drunk 3/4 of his pint and had to be topped up. By the time we had actually finished the commercial he was well merry
No the other end altogether and opposite side of the road Del. Near the south shore pier and The Manchester pub and was it the Foxhall?
Great story though Del!
What commercial was it Del? Surely it will still exist somewhere in this day and age?

Reading through I though god I'm going to be the oldest,BUT I see I am in good company with Hugh as I too am a 1952 model and in six days I will be one year older..........as they say hindsight is a wonderful thing😀📽📽📽📽📽

So, coming from 1951, am I the oldest of the group? (At least from those who dared to reveal their age!). Aside from a thinning top and a few loose teeth I am fit like a baby! I eat everything! I do not have high blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar. I see better than ever before (a myopic since age seven, I had a catarract operation four years ago, that also cured my myopia ) so, I guess I am still a young boy who will keep collecting for many years to come!!

Andrew, it was for Maggie Mays itself (I think it was Linda Nolan), it was broadcast on ITV for a week or two, the only 2 people that never saw it was me and the missus
I lived for a while near the Manchester, my mum & dad had a guest house opposite the central pier.
We gotta try and find that video Del, it'd be so much fun to look back on those old ads now anyhow, let alone when one of us here featured in it!!

I'll be more dogged than that Del! Ha ha ha.
What year was it made in Del?
As for Thijs revealing his age here earlier; .. You lucky lucky bugger!
Enjoy my friend, it's the best age in the world to be, is yours!

Andrew, according to the missus, it was done in 1986 for the Blackpool tourist board
1951. so nearly 65. been into cine since i was 12. dont know where the times gone. would not change my time with film and the movies one bit. as well as the film and projector aspect of it i have met some great people too. my tastes are varied but i especially love B/W films. and to take me back in time i watched my 16mm print of A HARD DAYS NIGHT just the other night. it never fails to make me feel younger again. such a fresh and lively film with some classic beatles tracks. by the way, i have David Guest to thank for the print.

Brilliant film Paul! Mind you I'm biased. Seldom has a film been made that contains great music, that I don't thoroughly enjoy.
