Derann At Pinewood DVD

#1 by Dave Alligan , Tue May 10, 2016 5:34 pm

I don't know if anybody has this DVD when it first came out from Derann many moons ago but I am bringing this out again with the full support of the Simmonds family, the footage has been remastered and their is extra material on the DVD plus a donation from each sale of the DVD will be going to cancer research again this has been requested by the Simmonds family and I am only too willing to do this.

Thanks

Dave

Sign me up for one too, or rather 3 perhaps. I can sell on in our club too. This is the dreaded format, but at least it's about film, which I find acceptable

As I recall, Pinewood called a halt after this one, some of the collectors thought it a good idea to visit the sound stages, were caught
and that was that.

I will take 3, just because it is for cancer research. When and how to order?

Thrown off set Hugh, I believe! Ha ha.

Maybe the DVD ends abruptly with a security guard shouting "be off with the lot of you!"

You are spot on Hugh, it was made very clear to all collectors that the back lot was strictly off bounds as they were filming "Batman" with Michael Keaton but like everything else some collectors thought that didn't apply to them and they were caught and escorted off the grounds and Derek got a very sharp letter from Pinewood Studios bosses saying that he would never be allowed to hold another convention at Pinewood Studios.

It's always the same David, there are always the clowns that think it doesn't apply to them, you know the type, "Ah what harm can it do, we're only looking", not thinking that it is an industry like any other and runs to schedules and budgets, they can't afford reshoots because of idiots crawling on site. I know at Bray ll, we were allowed to make use of café facilities, the bar etc, downstairs we could
meander about, as there were stalls set up, but upstairs were the Offices, and the Sound Stages were off limits, I think they were still doing the "Poirot's" there at the time, but it was like a huge garden party, the Directors and Stars were there to speak with, why would you want to spoil it?
