Good luck in your new role Greg. I am certain you'll find it a breeze to moderate this forum, it virtually looks after itself.
Those were my findings at least and the hardest part I found was to get newcomers to part with their real names!

I'm not certain that trend will ever change much in places like these. Everyone wants to remain incognito in today's cyberspace corrupt world. 😁😁

That's a sizeable collection you have in your photo Greg.

In response to Robert, "I'll say! And impeccably tidy too!". :-)

:) I am glad there is no "Before" picture of how disorganized things were! I am finally getting the films straightened out a bit after having moved over the winter.
I do like using one of those P-Touch label makers. I usually put the Title/Episode and then type of film stock--B&W, or Eastman, or LPP etc. These film stock labels are different colors. Guess what color the Eastman label is? Red! I think LPP is green. This is overkill no doubt, but I can't always remember if a print is faded or not and this makes it a little easier to see at a glance.

I don't have many features (although I would like to!) Mainly Blackhawk L&H, some cartoons, some old educational films, TV shows etc. The Super 8/8mm is off to the right, mostly 200 ft. and 400 ft cartoons or Blackhawk titles, a few Derann titles.
I have been lucky on a few occasions picking up small collections at "garage sale" prices, then selling off some of those and using proceeds to fund other film purchases. Grateful and happy for what I have...:)

I decorate my 16mm features boxes with usually a poster on one side, and a still on the other side, they are laminated after printing. Until recently I was using an Epson printer that had water resistant ink, but I recently had to buy a new printer and went for HP, and theirs are not water resistant, so I have to be extra careful now when I glue the title label.

Robert,
I think I have seen some of your boxes--they are fantastic! Having art on the box (or film can) is impressive looking!
I have not tried doing that myself yet. But it would be a fun and worthwhile project to do some time....hmmm.. maybe I can recruit my wife to do one or two as she is very crafty and good at things like that....

Seeing Robert's and Doug's box creations I see that I have a long way to go :-)

A very tidy collection, Greg. I have a couple of shelves. If they only was enough it wouldn't look too bad. But the films has now found their way under the bed too, not looking too good :-)

Robert, your storage solution for 16mm is really the tops! :-) Are you taking requests? ;-)

Eivind, I don't have shelves either for my 16mm, not under a bed, but in piles on the floor in a spare room.

Robert and Eivind,

There are always the kitchen cupboards. You'll just have to clear out your dinnerware and other kitchen needs. :-)

Tim, so many features turn up in worn boxes that have previously held other films, that I patch them up, then cover them with strong brown paper of similar shade to the original box. Tim, you tell my wife about using her cupboards.
