New 16mm shop!

#1 by Andrew Woodcock , Fri Mar 04, 2016 1:50 pm

Reading off the other forum, news has emerged from David Guest that he is opening a new 16mm shop!

It will be open at evenings only apparently to begin with, 3 days a week, but this is of course great news for all 16mm collector's of these films and equipment.

Good to see Paul back posting there also this morning to give his endorsement to the project!

A rosy future ahead then for all 16mm fans. It'd be great if someone else would add to the 8mm suppliers we have like this example here.
Especially as we are now one down for the time being at the very least.

I live in hope our "one down" returns to the fold Andrew, I for one, as one collector said on another forum "the idiots will no doubt still buy" yes, put me at the top of the list, as for Dave Guest's new shop, fine, but cheaper prices to films would be a plus.

Yes it'd be nice for Paul to still continue selling Super 8mm upon his re emergence.
I've had quite a few films from him over the years and always found the overall service level more than satisfactory.

It'd also be great if one or two more could take up the void for the expensive later stuff, but I suppose, it is difficult to source this stuff now without having many many links to the hobby from years past.

Regarding this new shop, I remember some poor soul needing a screw or washer, David came to the fore with the same for sale,
I have sent stuff as this free gratis, the difference between member/helper and businessman. I am a getting old builder now, but if I can help my fellow members, I do, I've imported stuff, sent parts, but I'll still help where I can, no cost to said members, and on other forums, Scott might be a rough arse, but he will help where he can, count on that.
