A good sign? Hateful Eight

#1 by Vidar Olavesen , Sun Jan 03, 2016 5:01 pm

Seems Norway is sold out on just about every showing of Tarantino's Hateful Eight on 70mm ... I am going on February 6th and can hardly wait. Hope the evil money guys see the appreciation people show by going to see the reel version. Kudos to Tarantino for giving reel lovers some extra footage too

Forgive me, but what I have seen in the trailers does seem familiar ground, "The Big Silence", no doubt that beautiful soundtrack
will be plagiarised by Tarantino, I know he has his followers, I am not one of them, film or no, he is a plagiarist.

I love most of his work. Not a fan of the Kill Bill's and Jackie Brown

Django Unchained was great in my opinion. Wouldn't mind a print :-)

Accepted Vidar, don't want to offend, but I still think he "rips off " and backs it up with music scores from far better films, just my view,
build the pyre where I can see my house.

Now I'm the opposite, I love Jackie Brown. I think it's a cracking old film.

Agreed Andrew, but his later stuff is dissipated by using music from film classics, unforgivable in my book. No doubt this latest
incarnation will be the same, I'll be more than surprised if a Morricone score from "Big Silence" is not used.

Hugh, of course taste will differ, that's part of the fun ... I get do many upset comments when I talk crap about "films" like Pacific Rim. People love it, I found it to be utter crap looking like a video game with it's awful CGI. My taste is not like theirs, still fun messing a bit with it. Jackie Brown, I rather have Foxy Brown :-)

True Vidar, I am not a fan of Jap monsters films, the first was a classic ( stolen from Harryhausen ) the only watchable films
from this stable are the last two recent remakes from the USA that were far and away better in story and believable saurian
movies, "Pacific Rim" failed in this Jap Dragon rubbish.
