Reel Film................I hope

Here are two pictures I took last night in a cramped projection box in Plymouth. The box is now used as a junk room for numerous boxes of film related material and numerous silver discs.Basically the room has been changed to show the new stuff(d).
Well in a couple of weeks there are going to be two presentations of 35mm film, two features from the BFI,the proviso being that the films are showable.
The machines were run up and everything still works it just there is no room to do anything so the box has to be sorted out so I can get at the rewind /makeup table and dust the machines down.I shall try and keep this thread up to date with progress if all goes well
I am waiting to hear that the films have arrived for checking and make up I hope. Also hope to have some more pics as the 35mm machine combines a 16mm projector as well.

Nice pics there. I used to operate KINOTON projectors. Nice quiet smooth running machines.
The thing I disliked about them though were those bloody plastic runner ski strips and front
pressure gate parts.

Wasn't their reasoning behind using plastic to reduce film wear?

rUpdate on e "reel"film".As can be seen by the photos I had a great time showing the 1931 print of "Tell England" and very Good it was as well.A First World War film and I reckon Speilberg had seen it because the beach scenes were right out of Private Ryan!
Anyway the film went through no problem and the audience were appreciative of the show. One of the photos show the plastic in the gates as per Daves post. The only problem was the screen masking and curtains. As no one thought film would be shown again the masking motors and curtain motor have been disconnected and the screen masking is set as large as possible.Still at least we had a 35mm film show which was great.Roll on the next one????
