Anyone out there remember when the Rank Film Library offered everyone a free copy of the trailer 'Shalako' in Super 8; they were hoping of course that you would hire 8 & 16mm films from their catalogue. I felt guilty as I sent for the trailer, but had no intention of hiring any films. I still have it somewhere, no doubt turned red by now.

I'm sure there were many more Robert, who wanted the free trailer only. I have a Blackhawk 200' preview/sampler reel dated 1974. You did have to buy these back in the day but they were a fraction of what a typical 200' digest would have cost.

Never heard of samplers Tim, I expect that is quite rare.

I have a 16mm film, only about 7 minutes running time, from the Gaumont British Library, I think this was a sampler, so that you would hire the complete feature.
